Alliance Truck Parts adds clutches, RSD brake drums

Aug. 27, 2014

Alliance Truck Parts has expanded its clutch line to include four medium-duty clutches and also added RSD brake drums to its portfolio. The clutch line expansion also includes seven updated EZ-Assist clutches for the heavy-duty market.

These clutches are all now compatible with newer model-year engines. In addition, the new EZ-Assist clutches feature improved aftermarket facing, durable power threads on adjusting rings, and quick adjusting mechanisms.

“We have received numerous requests from our customers and our dealers to carry clutches for newer engines. Now, with this expansion, Alliance clutches are available to a wider range of customers with medium- and heavy-duty engines. Plus, they are more durable than ever.” said Wayne Turner, aftermarket product marketing manager for Daimler Trucks North America. “We ask that all customers who are considering a new Alliance clutch speak to their local dealer and consider the engine flywheel bore size and torque ratings for the best fit.”

The company is also offering new reduced stopping distance (RSD) steel axle brake drums for vehicles up to 14,700 lbs. gross axle weight rating. The new 16.5 in. by 5 in. drums are machined for a durable and superior brake surface that prevents “shoe slap” and vibration, Alliance said. They are FMVSS 121- compliant and meet or exceed current OE and SAE standards.

“We’re proud of this new Alliance RSD brake drum offering, which is the perfect option for newer truck models,” said Turner. “Many customers and dealers have requested an Alliance RSD option that is made in the United States. This addition to our brake drum line will provide our customers a durable, American-made brake drum at a great price.”

Both the clutches and brake drums are backed by a 1-year/unlimited-mile nationwide warranty serviceable at more than 800 locations including Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star and Thomas Built Buses dealerships in the U.S. and Canada, and Travel Centers of America and Petro locations nationwide.
