Dana adds ratios to Spicer ring and pinion gear offerings

Dana Holding Corp. has added additional ratios to its Spicer ring and pinion gear options for the Dana 44 (226 mm) and Dana 60 (248 mm) rear axles.

New ratios available include 4.56, 4.88, and 5.13, adding to existing ratios of the Dana 60 axle that range from 3.54 to 7.17 and the Dana 44 axle that range from 3.07 to 5.13.

“By incorporating a thorough, innovative manufacturing process to develop our gears, we are able to offer a level of quality that is unmatched by other suppliers producing gearing technologies,” said Bill Gryzenia, vice president and general manager of the Dana Aftermarket. “In addition to maintaining a supply of reliable, genuine quality products, we are developing additional ratios to better meet our customer demands.”

Dana also is offering customers its Spicer differential bearing kits that come with the necessary components to complete the installation. Parts included in the differential bearing kits can repair vehicles that are equipped with Dana 30, 35, 44, 60, 70 and 80 axles.

The Dana 60 axle is for off-roading vehicles, towing applications, rock crawlers, and street rods. Similarly, the Dana 44 axle is consistently used in off-road, four-wheel drive, street, and strip applications.

Dana also announced its SVL brand of light-duty ring and pinion gearing to provide additional coverage and ratios for the most popular light vehicle applications.

The new offering of ring and pinion gearing include 7.5 in., 8.8 in., 9 in., 9.5 in., 10.25 in., and 11.5 in. ring gear diameters for coverage of all makes of vehicles. Also included are expanded ratios for the Dana 30, 44, 60, 70, and 80 axles.
