Fontaine Trailer Co.has released a new dropdeck trailer with twist locks that is capable of accommodating two 20-ft. containers or one 40-ft. container. The Revolution Hybrid TX dropdeck includes many of the same features as other trailers in Fontaine’s Revolution line, including a lighter weight and stronger design.
The unitized design eliminates wracking and flexing as the trailer moves down the highway, Fontaine said, reducing road friction and extending tire life by up to 30% and improving fuel economy by up to 3%.
It features a one-piece extruded aluminum siderail, integrated load securement system for quicker loading and unloading, and a mainbeam design and construction designed for improved strength.
The trailer’s mainbeam is backed by Fontaine’s XtremeBeam Limited Lifetime Warranty.
“This product is definitely customer driven,” said Alan Briley, vice president of sales and marketing. “As more and more fleets and owner operators take advantage of the North American intermodal rail network, we are right there supporting them with this rugged dual-purpose workhorse that can handle a shipping container, a coil of steel, or a load of lumber with equal ease.”
