Goodyear launches tire services

Feb. 27, 2012

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. has introduced two services designed to improve tire management as well as emergency service during times of crisis.

The TVTrack program will help fleets monitor and manage tires more effectively, Goodyear said. Among the benefits of the program is the ability to capture and report information about vehicles and tires.

“This is the next step in the evolution of an already-robust business solution that helps fleet owners and managers drive down the cost of their operations by collecting, documenting and presenting key tire data in an easy-to-use, dashboard format,” said Bruce Woodruff, director of business solutions marketing, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems.

Using either a 3G cellular network, a WiFi connection, or a web-enabled device, technicians can enter data about tire pressure, tread wear and more on individual trucks and/or trailers. The program is also preloaded with information on nearly every tire available in North America, regardless of manufacturer, allowing techs to choose from a variety of tire specs.

A “clone this” feature allows data to be replicated throughout the system quickly, Goodyear said.

Also part of the new TVTrack tool is the fleetHQ Trailer Readiness program. This program provides customized reports on essential vehicle systems.

“For example, a fleet can work with its tire dealer to develop a custom trailer survey to inspect tire pressure, tire depth, trailer lights, air valves, wheel seals and a myriad of other things,” said Woodruff. “Comprehensive reporting is available online through www.fleetHQ.com, giving fleets 24/7 access to information. The data collected through our new Trailer Readiness program will help fleets make more informed business decisions, and that’s what the next-generation of TVTrack is all about.”

Goodyear has also launched its fleetHQ Utility Event Response program premium service.  This program, designed for utility vehicles, provides fast, round-the-clock service during power outages and other emergency situations.

“Operating through fleetHQ’s industry-leading, 24/7 Solution Center, Utility Event Response mobilizes local and national resources for rapid, reliable service to utility vehicles during power outages,” said Woodruff.

The fleetHQ Solution Center will dispatch tire dealers’ service trucks and technicians to sites that have been impacted by power outages. Utility Event Response also will offer premium Goodyear tires in the sizes and types necessary for utility vehicles.
