Great Dane’s Nebraska facility turns out 100,000th trailer

An Everest SS trailer model rolled off the assembly line at Great Dane Trailer’s Wayne, NE, manufacturing plant, marking the 100,000 trailer unit to leave the facility.

Great Dane held a ceremony On Oct. 3 to mark the occasion, inviting the town’s mayor, Ken Chamberlain; representatives from Great Dane’s corporate offices in Chicago and Savannah including Great Dane’s president, Dean Engelage; and Don Decker, president and CEO of Decker Truck Line.

The 257,000 sq. ft. Wayne manufacturing facility builds Great Dane’s Everest SS refrigerated trailers. Production at the facility began in 1986 with two assembly lines.

Since that time there have been five additions to the plant, which now employs more than 550 and builds more than 5,000 trailers annually.

Decker Truck Line took delivery of the trailer.
