LOUISVILLE. To support continued commercial vehicle growth, Grede Holdings announced that it will invest more than $20 million over the next three years in its Biscoe, NC, facility.
The investment, announced this week at the Mid-America Trucking Show, will be used for three new molding machines and handling systems, heat treating, an environmentally friendly immersion coating system, machining and the addition of 26,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing floor space.
In addition, it is anticipated that more than 35 employees will be hired at the location to support the expansion and growth plans, Grede said.
“Grede has a long history of partnering closely with commercial vehicle customers to provide high quality, value-added products. The new investments in Biscoe, NC, will not only allow us to meet increased demand, but also improve quality, delivery and reduce lead times to our key customers,” said Doug Grimm, president and chief executive officer (CEO), Grede.
Grede supplies key components for Class 3-8 commercial vehicles, including suspension, engine, driveline and accessory components.
In conjunction with the investments, Grede also will increase its engineering capabilities, which will provide a new, multi-faceted approach to product development for heavy-duty truck and other transportation and industrial applications.
