GT Radial introduces new trailer tire

April 13, 2015

The GT Radial GTL922 FS premium line haul trailer tire is joining the GT Radial commercial tires lineup.

“This next generation, SmartWay-verified line haul trailer tire features a four straight groove design for enhanced driving stability and effective water flow,” the company said. “Aggressive sipes and microsipes on the ribs provide superior wet grip performance, while a diamond shaped groove bottom design prevents stone retention and casing damage.”

According to the company, the new tire includes the following Giti technologies:

  • Equal force casing, which is a specially designed casing technology that enables an optimal tire footprint and equal force distribution for better control and regular tread wear.

  • With the Giti cap base design, the cap layer provides wear-resistant qualities while the base rubber between the top layer and the casing includes a special cooler running formulation that insulates the casing from heat buildup.

  • Duo filler technology is a combination of two bead fillers – hard and soft. The soft bead filler helps provide a more comfortable ride and smoother handling, the company said, while the hard bead filler helps support better durability.

“The GTL922 FS is the result of extensive research and development efforts by our team at the GITI TIRE R&D Center (North America) Inc. in Ohio,” said Patrick Gunn, director of sales and marketing, commercial tire. “We’re excited to offer this next generation line haul trailer tire to North American fleets and owner operators.”
