According to the company, the AANL uses Hendrickson advanced axle/beam technology (AXT) and large-diameter axle (LDA) to strengthen the component system with a reduced weight.

LDA increases the axle diameter to five and three-quarters inches while reducing wall thickness, delivering up to a 15% increase in bending and torsional stiffness compared to the standard five-inch walled axle, Hendrickson said.

The OEM also announced that production of an under beam lift (UBL) to match the AANL will begin in the third quarter of 2008.
