International rolls out Paystar 5900i

International introduced the PayStar 5900i set-back axle (SBA), a Class 8 vocational on/off-highway truck aimed at severe-service applications such as construction, oilfield, logging, heavy-hauling, mining and recovery, here at the Conexpo-Con/Agg show

LAS VEGAS. International introduced the PayStar 5900i set-back axle (SBA), a Class 8 vocational on/off-highway truck aimed at severe-service applications such as construction, oilfield, logging, heavy-hauling, mining and recovery, here at the Conexpo-Con/Agg show.

The truck features a wide-track, set-back axle design for better front axle load distribution and improved maneuverability, the company said. It can be equipped with Caterpillar or Cummins diesel engines up to 15-liter and 625 hp.

The 5900i is the newest addition to International’s lineup, which includes the PayStar 5500i and 5600i models as well as the WorkStar 7600 and 7700 models.

According to the company, the truck also includes a 12.25-in. frame rail chassis; 2.3 strength-to-weight ratio; front bumper with tow pin capable of pulling up to 150,000 lbs.; up to 2,050 lb-ft. of torque; standard dual power steering gears and Standard Whisper Cab sound insulation package.

The 5900i is currently in production and available for order at International’s dealer network of nearly 900 U.S. and Canadian locations.
