Grote Industries has released a hookup lamp that it said provides more light to a wider area in the gap between the rear of tractors and front of trailers. Grote said the SuperNova LED hookup lamp uses its WhiteLight technology and an advanced optical design that focuses that light in areas not commonly well lit by tradition incandescent lamps.

According to Grote said, a single one of these hookup lamp provides a 250-lumen beam pattern while offering the coverage of two incandescent lamps with a 50-watt power savings.

“Hookup lamps are often just repurposed dome lamps or stop/tail/turn lamps with as little as 32 candle power,” said Mike Grote, business development manager. “Those lamps create a relatively dimly lit work environment that can hamper vision and reduce productivity.”

The LED lamp is designed to light the environments common to utility trucks, fifth wheels, forklifts and off-road vehicles as well as other applications. It is rated for 50,000 hours of service. The 12-volt lamp comes in two versions, one for the optimized hook-up beam pattern and the other a wide flood pattern to light wider work areas.
