Kenworth T700, Hino 338 take ATD top honors

PHOENIX. Kenworth Truck Co.’s Class 8 T700 tractor equipped with a Paccar MX engine and the 2012 Hino model 338 were named, respectively, the heavy- and medium-duty trucks of the year by the American Truck Dealers (ATD) association

PHOENIX. Kenworth Truck Co.’s Class 8 T700 tractor equipped with a Paccar MX engine and the 2012 Hino model 338 were named, respectively, the heavy- and medium-duty trucks of the year by the American Truck Dealers (ATD) association.

Selected by a panel of journalists from the industry’s leading publications, including Fleet Owner executive editor David Cullen, these top truck winners were shown off at the 48th annual ATD Convention and Expo, being held at the Phoenix Convention Center this week in Phoenix, AZ.

The other nominees in the heavy-duty category were the International ProStar Plus, equipped with a 13-liter MaxxForce engine, and Peterbilt Motor Co.’s Model 386 lightweight sleeper-cab tractor.
The other medium-duty truck nominees inlcuded Ford Motor Co.’s F650/F750 Super Duty, the International TerraStar, Isuzu NPR Eco-Max, Kenworth T370 4x4 and Peterbilt Model 337 4x4.
