Grote Industries has introduced a new family of LED side turn lamps that it said are suitable for multiple applications including aerodynamic skirts, restricted space between frame rails, and locations where a separate mounting flange is not practical.

The lamps come in three styles, each with a choice of either male pin or hard-shell connectors. In traditional applications, Grote said the grommet-mount version works well. The integrated flange-mount version is low profile, easy to install and comes with a matching mounting pad to absorb stress due to flex from the mounting surface or torque from mounting fasteners.

There is also a surface-mount version with a smaller footprint, lower profile and lighter weight.

“Grote looked at the expanded applications and mounting environment for the side turn lamp category and realized that there were market needs that were not being adequately addressed,” said Randy Staggs, business development manager for signal lighting. “In designing our new side turn family of lamps, we factored in weight reduction, challenging mounting surfaces like aerodynamic side skirts, varying electrical connector styles, the driver’s desire to see the lamp functioning from the cab, and maintaining compliance with SAE recommendations and requirements in all 50 states.”
