To meet increasing demand for its retread technology, Marangoni Tread North America (MTNA) has expanded its plant in Madison, TN.

Marangoni produces retreads for independent truck tire retreaders. The $10-million investment allows MTNA to expand the production capacity of its Ringtread splice-less retread technology by 30%. Also as part of the investment will be the installation of machinery to begin producing its “innovative conventional procure product Unitread.”

The company has added 20 people to the facility with 8-10 more expected to be hired within six months.

Unitread is a procure tread line that is cured at a lower temperature than other conventional precure treads, the company said. It comes in new cut-to-length molds that are designed to minimize waste and significantly lessen under tread to run cooler in operation.
