The new 2008-model Nissan Titan pickup truck is due to start rolling off the production line this Spring this year. It will be available with a new long wheelbase (LWB) version as well as with flex-fuel engines capable of operation on ethanol-gasoline fuel blends.

The 2008 Titan will come in four models – XE, SE, PRO-4X and L – along with two body styles – King Cab and Crew Cab. The truck will be available in both 4x2 and 4x4 drive configurations, with four bed sizes – 5-ft 5-in, 6-ft 5-in, 7-ft and 8-ft. Flexible fuel vehicle (FFV) capability will be offered so it can operate on E85 ethanol.

The Titan is built on Nissan’s F-Alpha pickup platform, which features a 5.6-liter DOHC Endurance V8 rated at 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft torque. The truck will also boast a standard 5-speed automatic transmission and a maximum towing capacity of up to 9,500 lbs for King Cab and 9,400 lbs for Crew Cab, when properly equipped, said Larry Dominique, vp-product planning for North America.
