A new reman’d transmission offering from Eaton Corp. provides more alternatives for dealers to help get fleets back up and running quicker. Eaton is also expanding its warranty coverage for its entire Reman line of transmissions.

The Flex Reman line of transmissions, part of Eaton’s Reman transmission line, differs from standard Eaton Reman transmissions in that it is shipped with a new gasket, eliminating the clutch housing. This will increase the number of Eaton Fuller transmission models that dealers will be able to replace, said Bill Fouch, aftermarket marketing manager for Eaton’s Truck business.

“Eaton’s new FLEX Reman transmission is the perfect evolution of our remanufactured portfolio,” said Fouch. “Through certain design changes, we are able to present dealers a flexible inventory of 10 models that meet 80% of the market need.”

The Flex line also has a standard shift bar housing with a forward shift bar housing available, and covers a range of torque, the company said.

“It’s a win-win for the dealer and fleet; dealers don’t waste time searching and waiting for units, and fleets benefit from immediate service that gets them back to making money – instead of spending it – sooner,” Fouch said.

Same-day and next-day delivery of necessary parts is available through the Roadranger Logistics Network, which includes 14 warehouses throughout the U.S.

Standard warranty coverage on the entire Reman transmission portfolio is now two years for linehaul and 18 months for vocational applications, Eaton said.

“We believe we have the best remanufactured heavy-duty transmission in the business, and now we back it with the industry’s best warranty coverage,” said Fouch. “Genuine Eaton components combined with Eaton’s manufacturing technology result in Reman transmissions second only to a new Eaton transmission.”

Eaton is also offering extended protection plans of two years for linehaul and 18 months for vocational applications beyond the standard warranty period. Customers purchasing a standard Reman transmission as part of a glider kit installation receive an additional year of warranty coverage at no additional cost on the transmission for linehaul applications if they also purchase an Eaton Advantage Series clutch and use Roadranger-approved lubricant, the company said.
