Four additional Yokohama tires have been added to the list of verified technology for the U.S. EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership.
Yokohama Tire Corp. tires earning the recognition are the 1017L and 103ZR steer tires, RY587 trailer tires and the TY517MC2 drive tires. The tires meet SmartWay’s low-rolling resistance criteria.
The 101ZL and 103ZR steer tires are part of Yokohama’s Zenvironment line, which consists of ultra high-tech truck tires that last longer and are more fuel efficient, the company said. The 103ZR measures 23/32 in. The RY587 offers premium performance for long-haul trailer applications, delivers a combination of long, even original tread mileage, lower fuel consumption and durability, Yokohama said. The TY517MC2 delivers long even wear and superior durability.
