Noregon adds Next Step bundles, updates JPRO DLA+ Adapters

June 13, 2013

Noregon Systems has released JPRO Next Step bundles and added driver and firmware updates for JPRO DLA+ Adapters.

The Next Step bundles include 16 new part numbers that bundle the JPRO Next Step Service Information Module with JPRO Commercial Fleet Diagnostics Heavy Duty software and all of the JPRO Fleet Service Kits. Noregon has added an “NS” suffix to each Next Step bundle part number to signify that it contains the Next Step module.

“Since the launch of our JPRO Next Step Service Information Module earlier this year, our customers have requested that we combine JPRO Next Step with our most popular products,” said Greg Reimmuth, vice president of sales and marketing for JPRO Commercial Fleet Products. “This streamlined approach makes it easy for JPRO customers to quickly identify and purchase the best diagnostics and repair solution for their operation.”

New JPRO customers purchasing a JPRO Next Step bundle receive 15 months of support and updates for JPRO software and 15 months of JPRO Next Step – which equates to three free months of JPRO support and JPRO Next Step, the company pointed out. Each order for a JPRO Next Step bundles requires a signed End User License Agreement, or EULA, for both JPRO and Next Step.

JPRO Next Step automatically ties diagnostic trouble codes to repair information. Once a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is found, technicians click on the Next Step logo (located on the JPRO launch bar within the home screen) and a new window opens containing service information associated with the specific DTC.

Information displayed includes:

  • Mitchell 1 Repair-Connect.net troubleshooting information covering most heavy-duty diesel engines including Cat, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, International, Volvo/Mack and Mercedes.
  • OEM trouble shooting guides for Eaton Fuller transmissions, Meritor WABCO, Bendix and Haldex.

Noregon also announced driver and firmware updates for JPRO DLA+ Adapters. The updates cover JPRO DLA+, JPRO DLA+ Wireless and JPRO DLA+ PLC Adapters.

The new drivers provide support for the ISO 15765 protocol via RP1210C on JPRO DLA+ and JPRO DLA+ Wireless Adapters. Support for ISO 15765 on the DLA+ PLC Adapter will soon be available.

Installation of the new driver and firmware is required for the latest versions of Cummins Insite, Cummins PowerSpec and 2013 Volvo Trucks with Volvo Engines. As a new feature, the adapter firmware now automatically updates following the first diagnostic connection to the vehicle. Automatic firmware updates are not supported when connecting to Volvo Premium Tech Tool.

2013 Volvo Trucks require the use of a Volvo 16-PIN OBD-II cable. Cummins engine programming may require a Cummins 3-Pin Cable.
