Cummins names new president

Cummins Inc. has named Joe Loughrey its new president & COO. Jim Kelly, who recently served as vp & gm of the company's mid-range and heavy-duty engine business, has been appointed to Loughrey's former position as president of the truck engine division. In addition, Rick Mills was promoted to president of the Components Group, a new unit that includes Fleetguard/Nelson, Emissions Solutions, Holset

Cummins Inc. has named Joe Loughrey its new president & COO. Jim Kelly, who recently served as vp & gm of the company's mid-range and heavy-duty engine business, has been appointed to Loughrey's former position as president of the truck engine division.

In addition, Rick Mills was promoted to president of the Components Group, a new unit that includes Fleetguard/Nelson, Emissions Solutions, Holset Engineering Co. and Fuel Systems.

Cummins has also combined its International and North American distributor groups into one unit, the Worldwide Distribution Business. Rich Freeland has been appointed president of that unit. Steve Chapman, former president of the International Distributor Business, is now group vp-Emerging Markets and Businesses.

Tom Linebarger, president of Cummins Power Generation, and Jean Blackwell, CFO, have been named executive vice-presidents.

According to Tim Solso, chairman and CEO, “We are restructuring critical elements of the company to help us better execute our plans, grow faster — especially in developing markets — capture more synergies between businesses and generate more profit for shareholders.”
