The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has added another retread pattern to its growing line of retreads fashioned after popular new tire tread designs. The new UniCircle procured retread — which is based on the Unisteel G338 model — has an aggressive drive position tread pattern with high-blade density that the company says provides excellent all-weather traction.
The G338 retread, notes Goodyear retread product manager Richard Kirk, is suited for Class 7 and 8 trucks in regional single-axle, high-torque applications. “The G338 features Goodyear's exclusive 2015T compound for performance similar to new tire compounds.”
Kirk says new tire performance can be attributed to the UniCircle procured retreading process that uses a seamless vulcanized tread that is snapped onto a buffed casing, laser-positioned and then precision-stitched.
