Delco Remy has updated its 50DN heavy-duty brushless alternator with advanced technologies designed to provide better performance and reliability for transit vehicles in a range of challenging applications. The new technology is available in all new Delco Remy 50DN alternators, factory-remanufactured 50DN Master Rebuild Kits and service parts.

The 50DN features a new Long Life Stator (LLS) assembly consisting of a one-piece insulator with rigid leads to eliminate electrical grounds and shorts. To help transit fleets conquer heat-related performance issues, Delco Remy has designed the new alternator with increased-diameter copper leads and has removed lead insulation, which results in greater surface contact with internal cooling oil.

According to the manufacturer, the 50DN also has a new, highly durable seal and collar assembly that reduces friction-related wear and increases the unit's pressure-handling capacity. Greg Reimmuth, heavy-duty product manager says, “The new 50DN helps transit fleets rely on a proven product.
