A single-piece steel bumper placed forward of the hood helps reduce impact damage; Metton quarter fenders add durability and impact resistance.

According to Kenworth, halogen projector low-beam headlamps give up to 30% more light. Other features include a 35-gal. steel fuel tank, steel battery box and ABS cover, and heat-treated frame rail.

Options include a telescoping/tilting steering wheel, workstation with two 12V power ports, corner windows and an electronic shift module. The OEM also points out that because there is no doghouse, noise inside the cab is reduced.
