Shell has released Spirax ASX R, an axle fluid formulated with synthetic base oils and additive technology to improve lubrication of the drivetrain, lowering the operating temperature and promoting long equipment life.

ASX R is designed for heavily loaded axles and protects against gear wear and pitting, while helping prevent damage due to deposit formation. It can be used along with its companion product, Spirax GSX 50 transmission fluid.

"It is important that fleet managers and drivers are aware of the benefits quality axle lubricants can provide," said Walt Silveira, U.S. technical services manager for Shell Lubricants. "Our new Shell Spirax ASX R axle fluid provides enhanced fuel efficiency while protecting the essential components of the drive train."
