Amarillo road work will cause traffic delays

Oct. 24, 2012

The Texas Dept. of Transportation said motorists can expect delays throughout Amarillo, TX, this week because of construction projects.

Paul Braun, TxDOT spokesman, said all projects are subject to change because of the weather, emergency work and other unexpected events.

Following is a list of lane and road closures planned for the week of Oct. 22-28.

  • On US 60, expect lane closures in both directions from Grand Street to Eastern Street for milling and paving operations.
  • On the IH-27 frontage roads, expect lane closures in both directions from Bell Street to the Interchange for patching.
  • On IH-40, expect continued lane closures in both directions in the left lane from Loop 335 (Soncy) to the Oldham County line for edge work.
