ATA accepting nominations for LEAD program

March 11, 2015

The American Trucking Assns. (ATA) is now accepting nominations for the third class of its LEAD ATA leadership development program.

“Since it was created two years ago, LEAD ATA has brought dozens of future trucking industry and ATA leaders to Washington and other important industry events to learn about what ATA does and how it advocates on behalf of trucking,” said Bill Graves, ATA president and CEO. “The program is cultivating the next generation of leaders, not just for our association but our industry.”

LEAD ATA, launched in 2013, sponsored by PeopleNet, provides exclusive educational opportunities designed to highlight how the regulatory and legislative process affects the trucking industry and the important role ATA plays in shaping both, as well as demonstrating the many tools available to industry executives through ATA. Each year, a new class will be accepted into LEAD ATA to cultivate the federation's future ATA leaders.

“As we move into a time of unprecedented change in the transportation industry, identifying and training our next generation leaders are top priorities in our industry,” said Mark Kessler, PeopleNet trucking general manager. “PeopleNet applauds ATA for its innovative approach to addressing this important industry need. We’re proud to continue its sponsorship of LEAD ATA, and excited about introducing a new group of future leaders selected to join this fantastic program.”
