Less than a year after taking the position, Brad Bentley resigned as president of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), citing family obligations in his native Alabama.
“It has been my distinct honor to serve as president of the Truckload Carriers Association for the past ten months,” he said, “but the time has come for a new direction.”
Bentley (at right) said in a statement that he plans to take time off before pursuing other opportunities in the trucking industry.
Last year, Bentley replaced Chris Burruss as TCA president, who resigned for personal reasons in June 2014.
The organization noted that Keith Tuttle, TCA’s chairman, plans to assemble a task force comprised of association staff to find a replacement.
