A Cat in the back

Oct. 8, 2015

It’s not every day that one finds a giant stuffed lion in the back of a truck. But that’s just what our intrepid reporter spotted down in Dallas in the “Hard-Ley Working” mechanic and road service truck. The license plate said “Ghost,” so at first he thought it referenced the formidable lion in the 1996 adventure film “The Ghost and The Darkness.” Ah, but not so. Being powered by a Caterpillar diesel, the truck’s owner — Jerry Cruz, whose handle is “Ghost” — explained that “with a Cat up front, you need one in the back.”
