Hauling java for G.I. Joe

May 11, 2015

Con-way Truckload recently joined forces with military charity Holy Joe’s Café to provide free freight transport for thousands of pounds of donated coffee to military bases across the U.S.

The TL carrier moved its first load of coffee for Holy Joe’s in June of last year, eventually handling more than a dozen shipments representing an in-kind donation of transportation services valued at more than $50,000. Each load is comprised of about 400,000 to 500,000 Green Mountain Keurig K-cup coffee packages along with a pallet of Keurig coffeemakers, noted Thomas Jastermsky, founder of Holy Joe’s Café.

Con-way Truckload hauls those loads to stateside U.S. military bases, such as Fort Hood, TX, and Fort Campbell, KY, where they are repackaged and sent via military transport to units deployed overseas.
