NGV fueling… as home appliance

In a bid to spur wider adoption of natural gas vehicles (NGVs) in the U.S. and globally, GE researchers in partnership with Chart Industries and University of Missouri scientists are developing an in-home NGV refueling station which they say will cut refueling times from five to eight hours down to less than one hour.

Partially funded by an Advanced Research Projects Agency for Energy grant, the project also aims to build a home refueling system that will cost no more than $500, vs. the $5,000-plus price tag common for current systems, said Anna Lis Laursen, project leader and chemical engineer at GE Global Research.

The total cost of the program will be about $2.3 million.

Home refueling system would be a better idea to charge your electric vehicles. You can plug the vehicle to charge during night and get a full charge vehicle the next day. Electric vehicles are increasing in number and charging is the major problem. But with NGV fueling that will lessen the charging time will be beneficial and saves time.
