Omnitek Engineering appoints vp of vocational sales, adds Dallas office

Sept. 20, 2013

Omnitek Engineering is opening an office in Dallas and has named industry veteran James W. Cole as vice president of vocational sales and product integration in the region. Omnitek develops and sells proprietary diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion systems and complementary products, including new natural gas engines.

“Jim’s extensive industry knowledge and his experience with original equipment manufacturers are important qualities to support our plans for growth, particularly as we ramp up domestic diesel-to-natural-gas engine conversions. We look forward to working with Jim, who will be based at our new branch office in Dallas. Service is particularly important to customer relationships and close proximity provides added-value. Jim will also be instrumental in OE relations,” said Werner Funk, president and CEO.

Cole most recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for Emission Solutions, a manufacturer of EPA and CARB certified Navistar DT466 natural gas engines. His experience includes working with trucking fleets operating in waste management, school bus operations and the food and beverage industries.

Cole has also worked with major heavy-duty engine manufacturers and government regulatory agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Air Resources Board (CARB), the Dept. of Energy (DOE) and Dept. of Transportation, the company said.

He spent 23 years with Nortel Networks.
