TRW returns to heavy-duty aftermarket

Feb. 17, 2012

TRW Commercial Steering Systems, a division of TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., recently marked its official expansion into the North American heavy-duty independent aftermarket. According to the company, this expansion into the independent heavy-duty aftermarket will allow distributors to receive supply directly from TRW without having to rely on other channels.

Distributors will stock and sell TRW remanufactured steering gear assemblies, which are not rebuilt but completely remanufactured to OEM-grade specifications with original TRW components and tested to meet TRW’s own production requirements.

The company has already established relationships with major distributors and is currently working to partner with others.

“Our focus on expanding channels of distribution through the independent heavy-duty aftermarket provides our end customers with additional supply channel options,” noted John M. Nielsen vice president & general manager, North America parts and service for TRW Automotive. “[It also] enables them to receive the high-quality products and services they require from leading, trusted distributors, maximizing vehicle uptime.”

TRW will continue to partner with OEMs, providing an expanded product portfolio of proprietary components specific to each OEM.   TRW offers complete commercial steering systems and steering components for medium- and heavy-duty, on/off highway vehicles.
