TravelCenters of America LLC will begin distributing diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at all of its TA and Petro branded locations in 2009, the company announced, coinciding with the SCR/DEF-equipped engine rollout by manufacturers that will begin in 2009.
“SCR technology and DEF are a reality,” said Tom Komos, TA vp of fuel supply. “TA has been and will remain committed to help ensure this greener, cleaner method of diesel engine operation is fully supported at 100% of our locations to coincide with the introduction of SCR equipped trucks for the 2010 model year.”
TA said it plans to distribute DEF through various delivery methods, including on-island bulk dispensers and in prepackaged containers.
