Gang held for truck registration scam
HYDERABAD: Eight persons allegedly involved in making fake registrations for trucks were arrested by Task Force sleuths on Tuesday. Four trucks were seized from the possession of the accused.
The accused have been identified as E Malla Reddy from Kompally, MV Subba Rao, M Srinivas, both from Vijayawada, KA Anjaneyulu from Keesera, S Anjaneylu from Kokapet, Mohammed Shameem Ahmed from Red Hills, Syed Gaffar from Aghapura and Mohammed Yousuf Khan from Karwan.

The gang had been purchasing registration documents of trucks which turn up at scrapyards and they used to purchase hypothecated trucks from owners unable to clear loans at low prices.
After purchasing the hypothecated trucks, the gang used to replace the chassis, engine number of the vehicle with that of the scrapped trucks and then sell the trucks to others at a higher price or procure fresh loan from finance companies.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the houses of the gang members on Monday night and arrested them. Cops seized four trucks from the culprits.
The accused were handed over to concerned law and order police for further probe.
