Ryder System, Inc. has announced its RydeGreen Hybrid straight truck is now available for order by Ryder lease customers, adding to the company’s RydeGreen lineup launched last year.

The medium-duty straight truck boasts a Navistar MaxxForce DT diesel engine and an Eaton Hybrid electric system in an International DuraStar Hybrid chassis. According to International, the truck can improve fuel efficiency up to 40% while dramatically reducing diesel emissions.

“The RydeGreen Hybrid offering meets the needs of fleet managers and business owners looking for innovative ways to dramatically improve fuel efficiencies and reduce emissions,” said Tony Tegnelia, president of Ryder’s Global Fleet Management Solutions. “We will continue to leverage the latest technology to meet increasing customer demand for environmentally sound fleet solutions.”

The company added that it would make a limited supply of RydeGreen Hybrid straight trucks available for rent to commercial customers at select Ryder rental locations starting next month.
