Descartes Systems Group has announced that retailer Crate and Barrel will use the company’s internet-based On-Demand Routing and Visibility software for approximately 80% of its delivery volume across the U.S.

According to Descartes, the program will provide Crate and Barrel with real-time access for delivery information. The company said this will optimize routes to ensure shipments are on time and that truckloads are delivered more efficiently.

Third-party carriers handle most Crate and Barrel deliveries, and the software will allow the company to effectively capture and report on delivery operations, as well as respond to customer queries in real-time, Descartes added.
