McLeod Software is adding a new feature-- Agent Access For Truckload—to its PowerBroker and LoadMaster enterprise management systems.
The new module allows brokers, logistics providers and carriers that dispatch their own trucks to manage those assets from a remote location, said Tom McLeod, president of the company. The Agent module is also an Internet-based tool, providing full capability to manage vehicles without the need to install a full-scale enterprise management system at each location.
“We designed ‘Agent Access For Truckload’ in response to the growing popularity of the ‘agent centric’ business model found in fleets and brokerages alike,” said McLeod. “Adding it to either of our enterprise systems makes it very convenient for the agent because it eliminates the need for special software or networking at his or her remote location. At the same time, it reduces administration and system management processes for the trucking and brokerage companies.”
McLeod noted the new module provides the ability for single or multiple agents and terminal operations to manage trucks from any computer with a web browser – without requiring additional hardware or software – so users can filter loads and trucks assigned to an agent, pre-assign, un-assign, dispatch, cancel dispatches, issue driver advances and entering/updating call-ins.
