A newly developed feature for McLeod Software's LoadMaster fleet management system allows customers and brokers to check a carrier's insurance status.

Providing a real-time interface with the Registry Monitoring Insurance Services (RMIS), it offers automated service to provide carriers, brokers and logistics firms access to current information on liability insurance and expiration dates for more than 40,000 carriers. This feature is integrated with the LoadMaster Dispatch system to prevent dispatch of a brokered load if a carriers' insurance has expired.

“The partnership with RMIS will allow our customers to quickly find the equipment and services they need, while reducing the risk of using unauthorized, unsafe, or underinsured carriers,” says Rick Halbrooks, vp-sales and marketing for McLeod Software.
