Tracking system adds geofencing

The web-based GPS tracking system Fleet Online now allows users to set geofence boundaries for trucks and other assets, providing managers with notification if vehicles enter or leave the area, as well as the vehicle's current location.

Developer Teydo Americas says it has also added new notification options for the tracking system. Alerts for unauthorized movement, geofence violation, low-battery levels and other operational exceptions can be sent in real-time to email accounts or mobile phones on the Cingular, T-Mobile and Microcell/Rogers GSM networks.
