WebTech moves to GSM

The WebTech 5000 Locator onboard data communications system offers real-time vehicle tracking, Internet access, messaging and email over the next generation GSM/GPRS digital network, according to developer WebTech Wireless. The new unit, which incorporates a GPS receiver, supports all four GSM bands 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz for the best possible coverage over land-based digital cellular networks.

The WebTech 5000 Locator onboard data communications system offers real-time vehicle tracking, Internet access, messaging and email over the next generation GSM/GPRS digital network, according to developer WebTech Wireless.

The new unit, which incorporates a GPS receiver, supports all four GSM bands — 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz — for the best possible coverage over land-based digital cellular networks. It supports store-and-forward capability as well as multiple geofences. Optional internal batteries provide anti-theft and anti-tampering alarms.
