The Holland Group announced the introduction of its AirLite 2 Air Suspension/Slider System, described as an economical way for fleets to convert their trailers from spring to air ride suspensions, while increasing trade-in value and life expectancy.

Holland's AirLite 2 technology uses the same spring-to-axle connection technique as spring suspensions, along with the same alignment procedures, so existing axles and brakes can be reused. AirLite 2 is approved for use with most 1/2-in. wall axles and fits most existing mechanical suspension body rails with 4-in. and 6-in. lockpin spacings.

Getting more life out of spring suspensions, while adding air ride quality at a low cost, is another benefit of AirLite 2, according to Jim Bush, vp-sales and service.

"Some of our customers with spring suspension trailers need to keep them longer to maximize their investment, yet they also recognize the advantages of converting to air ride technology," he says. "Until now, such conversion costs have been prohibitive. AirLite 2 removes that obstacle."
