Air-Weigh enters European market

To enhance its position in the European market, Air-Weigh, the Eugene, Ore.-based manufacturer of onboard electronics systems primarily truck scales has formed Air-Weigh Europe Ltd. as a joint venture with a European developer of onboard weighing systems. Martin J. Ambros, Air-Weigh's president & CEO, made the announcement during last month's SAE International Truck & Bus Meeting in Portland, Ore.

To enhance its position in the European market, Air-Weigh, the Eugene, Ore.-based manufacturer of onboard electronics systems — primarily truck scales — has formed Air-Weigh Europe Ltd. as a joint venture with a European developer of onboard weighing systems.

Martin J. Ambros, Air-Weigh's president & CEO, made the announcement during last month's SAE International Truck & Bus Meeting in Portland, Ore.

The new company, with Ron Love as chairman and CEO, will market Air-Weigh's complete line of onboard truck scales as well as manufacture a line of weighing devices for the off-road vocational market and smaller delivery-type Class 4, 5 and 6 vehicles.

Air-Weigh Europe Ltd. expects to introduce its first new product for delivery vehicles in the second quarter of 2001.
