Agrant from the U.S. Dept. of Energy's Maryland Clean Cities Program funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is allowing Aramark Uniform Services to add 50 diesel-electric hybrid trucks to its fleet. The company said the trucks are going to be deployed in a dozen urban areas where low vehicle speeds and stop-and-go traffic are the norm — ideal conditions for hybrid operation.
