Rostra Precision Controls now offers a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty on its RearSentry obstacle-sensing device. The RearSentry is designed specifically for Class 2-7 straight truck applications on vehicles with reduced rear visibility or equipment that extends from the rear, such as generator decks, buckets and booms.

Western Star Trucks has added a truck locator function to its web site, www.westernstartrucks.com. The new feature lets potential customers electronically search the new truck inventory of Western Star dealers in the United States and Canada. Users can specify everything from cab and sleeper size to engine, transmission and axle-rating choices. The search engine then returns the closest matches and the dealerships where the trucks are located.

Index Sensors & Controls says the extended-warranty version of its APAds A/C protection and diagnostic module is now available for all heavy-duty vehicle makes. Index says the APAds system automatically lubricates, monitors and protects A/C systems year-round. When the system detects harmful conditions it temporarily suspends compressor operation, preventing rapid cycling and premature wear and tear. In addition, the maker says APAds saves troubleshooting time and service costs. Techs can quickly diagnose an A/C problem by reading APAds' simple LED blink codes.
