E-manifest mandatory for Mexico

Truck carriers entering the U.S. through all border crossings in California, New Mexico and Texas are now required to transmit advance electronic truck cargo information through U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) truck manifest system.

Truck carriers entering the U.S. through all border crossings in California, New Mexico and Texas are now required to transmit advance electronic truck cargo information through U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) truck manifest system. The e-manifest system is part of CBP's Automated Commercial Environment. (ACE)

A 60-day “soft enforcement” period went into effect April 19. After that, stiffer enforcement actions will be taken against carriers that fail to participate.
