ExxonMobil names new lubricants team

The company also announced that its Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15W-40 diesel engine oil has earned Volvo's VDS-2 rating, signifying that it meets stricter performance standards and is sanctioned for 25,000-mi. extended drain intervals.

In related news, ExxonMobil publicly declared its support for the trucking industry's revised trailer hub lubrication guidelines. The new recommendations advise filling non-driven, wheel-end cavities to the halfway point when using semi-fluid grease, a volume increase over previous recommendations.

Webasto is putting the finishing touches on its CSL 45BT, a heating unit designed for 20-bay, 40-ft. beverage trailers. The units, which will be available July 1 of this year, produce 45,000 Btus of heat per hour.

The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Co. (BNSF) and Wabash National Corp. are offering incentives to shippers that purchase 53-ft. Wabash RoadRailer refrigerated trailers and put them into intermodal service with BNSF. Customers acquiring new ReeferRailer trailers for use on BNSF's system will receive special pricing. BNSF is also offering cash rebates from $100 to $150 each time the ReeferRailer trailer is moved by BNSF for 36 months after delivery.

Cab Comfort introduces the Servel 12V refrigerator for truck sleeper cabs. The 36-lb. refrigerator offers nearly 2 cu. ft. of space and comes equipped with a lock-down stabilizer bar designed to prevent road vibrations. Other features include a variable speed compressor to conserve energy, interior venting at both the top and bottom of the unit, and a patented ventilator fan.
