According to Bandag, its new FuelTech drive-axle and trailer-axle retreads employ a new low-rolling-resistance compound dubbed "Synergy" that allow them to increase fuel efficiency "without dramatic sacrifices in traction and tread wear."
The FuelTech drive tread is offered in a 24/32nds depth and features semi-closed shoulders that both lower rolling resistance and improve wear. It also boasts siping for improved traction; circumferential grooves for water evacuation; and warped wall grooves for stone ejection.
The FuelTech trailer tread comes in a 12/32nds depth and has large and varied groove angles for increased tread stability and deceased rolling resistance. Wide circumferential grooves provide for water evacuation and siping aids traction.
