Peter Karlsten, president of Volvo Trucks in Brazil, will become president of Volvo Trucks North America on October 1. He will succeed Michel Gigou, who is returning to Europe when his contract expires Dec. 31 Navistar International Corp. announced that president & CEO Daniel Ustian has assumed operating responsibility for the truck group; truck group president J. Steven Keate has left the company.

  • Freightliner LLC has tapped Jerome Guillen to be general manager, new product development.

  • Pedro Ferro, ArvinMeritor Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) vp and gm of specialty products, has also assumed responsibility for commercial vehicle exhaust. Rick Weisbart has been named vp of business development; and Walt Sherbourne has been appointed director, aftermarket sales for ArvinMeritor's Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket group.
