The software for WebTech Wireless' vehicle monitoring systems now allows fleets to set landmarks and track vehicle performance between them. The update to the company's Quadrant mapping and reporting application lets dispatchers assign those landmarks to an individual vehicle, a group of vehicles or the entire fleet.
Other enhancements of the software include improved security control, geofencing with automated reporting by vehicle, expanded reports from J1708 data bus inputs, a new mapping client for fleets that want to use their own map data, and messaging support for the Pocket PC 2003 operating system.
WebTech has also announced that its MDT2000 mobile data terminal now has a swipe-card option for driver identification. The card system can be linked to the truck's ignition as well, disabling vehicles for unauthorized users.
