International Truck and Engine Corp. has unveiled a new line of fire trucks based on its new 4000 series chassis. The fire truck configuration features a wheel axle cut of 50 deg. to provide better vehicle maneuverability. International Truck and Engine Corp. has unveiled a new line of fire trucks based on its new 4000 series chassis. The fire truck configuration features a wheel axle cut of 50 deg. to provide better vehicle maneuverability. Low offset steps, wide door openings and grab handles allow for quicker entry and exit for firefighters, International says. The truck's engine is also designed with matching transmission shift points and power curves for better driver control and a smoother ride.
