The new system also eliminates fees for issuing Comcheks to emergency service providers.

Link OpsCenter Broker is a web-based application for freight brokers that combines Link Logistics' LoadLink freight-matching and LinkDispatch management services on a single screen. The application also allows brokers to post loads on the DAT freight matching service, which is operated by Link Logistic's parent, Transcore. Version 2.0 of EZ Maintenance adds full inventory control and fuel tracking, according to developer Transportation Maintenance Solutions. LTL carrier Land Air Express of New England will use KonaWare's Mobile T&L Suite to manage its P&D operations, route planning, customer service and fleet administrative chores. Drivers in Land Air's 250-truck fleet will use Java 2 enabled cellphones or Pocket PCs to capture data.

Border Connect's PAS Portal puts Pre-arrival Process System (PAS) tracking services from over a dozen U.S. shippers on a single Web page, making it easier for carriers with U.S. bound shipments from Canada to monitor shipment status. With 130 tractors in dry freight truckload operations, RG Transport of Elwood, IN, has installed Truckload Cost Information System (TL/CIS), an activity-based cost analysis program developed by Transportation Costing Group. The new analysis software, which is integrated with the Access Plus ASP fleet management system from Innovative Enterprise Software, lets it quickly evaluate rates, traffic lanes and new customer service requests, according to RG Transport COO Dick DeBoer.

Flex-Mor Industries, a Canadian TL carrier hauling paper products into the U.S., will outfit its 60 tractors with the PeopleNet onboard computing and wireless communications system. Operating within a 750-mi. radius of its Bolton, Ont. Headquarters, Flex-Mor will use the system to simplify administration of a performance-based incentive program for its drivers.
