As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, Celadon Group named Shelby Bertsch, a freshman majoring in illustration at Columbus College of Art and Design, as the overall winner of the carrier's “Art for the Long Haul” contest. The submission, awarded “Best of Show,” was selected from entries received from college students throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The submission portrays an animated girl gazing into the distance with her hair flowing in the wind.
A trailer wrapped with a graphic of the winning piece was parked in front of the New York Stock Exchange when Celadon chairman & CEO Steve Russell rang the opening bell on April 23. The trailer will be included in Celadon's 25th birthday party, to be celebrated at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, and afterwards it will re-enter service in Celadon's fleet of approximately 3,000 tractors and 10,000 trailers.
